Outlook 2010 Setup as IMAP

1. Open Outlook 2010.

2. Go to File -> Info -> Add Account.

Add a new account

3. Select the "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" radio button and click Next

Select the Manually configure option

4. Select the Internet E-mail radio button and click Next.

Select the Internet E-mail option

5. Enter the required information:

  1. Your Name - The name you want to appear on outgoing email.
  2. E-mail address - Your email address.
  3. Account Type - Select "IMAP"
  4. Incoming mail server - This will be mail.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the domain of your email account.
  5. Outgoing mail server (SMTP) - This will also be mail.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is the domain of your email account.
  6. User Name - This will be your full email address.
  7. Password - Password for your email account.
Enter your account information.
  1. Choose More Settings and then select the Outgoing Server tab.
  2. Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication box and the Use same settings as my incoming mail server button.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab
  5. Incoming server port should be set to 143
  6. Outgoing server port should be set to 587
  7. Click OK
  8. Click Next
  9. Click Finish
