Adding SRV Records

You can add SRV records using the DNS editor of our cloud management interface.

As an example, we will guide you through creating the following record.

Type Service Protocol Port Weight Priority TTL Name Target
SRV _sip _tls 443 1 100 1 hour mydomain.com sipdir.online.lync.com

  1. Click the Domains icon.
  2. Create a new domain name. If you are editing an existing domain name then please skip to step 3.
    1. Click Add Domain to create a domain name
      1. Click Domain
      2. Uncheck all options except for Enable DNS
      3. Type the new domain name in the box provided (ex. mydomain.com)
      4. Click the Add Domain button
  3. Click on the domain name that you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit DNS zone records
  5. Click Add Record
  6. For Record Type, click the drop-down and choose SRV
  7. For Record Name, you will specify the Service followed by a . followed by the protocol.  In our example, you would specify _sip._tls for the Record Name.
  8. For Host offering this service, you will specify the target. In our example, you would specify sipdir.online.lync.com
  9. Then, specify the Priority, Weight and Port Number which would be 100, 1, and 443, respectively.
  10. Click the Save button
