When installing Wordpress updates you may experience a Permission Denied error and receive a message that says 'Installation Failed'. This is because write permissions are disabled by default throughout the entire website. Therefore, Wordpress is unable to copy the files to the server to perform the update. We recommend that you keep write permissions disabled for security purposes. However, you may temporarily enable write to perform the updates. You will need to follow these steps...
- Please Sign In to our website
- Click on Services at the top of the screen

- Click on Manage Cloud Services - You are now in the control panel
- Click on the File Manager icon

- Click the lock icon next to the wwwroot folder
- Check on both read and write next to the domain user (usually named the same as your website domain)
- Check on Replace permissions on all child objects
- Click the Set Permissions button
You can now go into your Wordpress admin and run the udpates. Afterwards, please go back into the file manager to disable write permissions.

You are all done. You will need to this each time you run Wordpress updates.
NOTE: Alternatively, you can use the file manager to set the exact permissions needed on each Wordpress folder. While generally safe, we do not recommend that approach because disabling write permissions on all folders will help provide the best level of security.
